Panic & Anxiety Attacks

Published by Tina Rutledge on

Let’s talk about the difference between a panic attack and an anxiety attack.

Anxiety is a slow building, pain in the butt feeling that may last for a few hours, days or weeks. We may not even know what it is or what we are feeling at the time. Just a few of the symptoms for anxiety are muscle tightness, irritability, insomnia, feeling restless and unable to concentrate. For me, I always put these feelings off to just being stressed or tired. No biggie right? We all feel tired and stressed at some point. Little did I know there was an underlying cause to all these feelings I was having and not paying attention to and how bad they would catch up to me!

Panic attacks are the devil! Let’s just throw that out there shall we? Panic attacks come on pretty dang fast and you feel like you are going to die! Some of the symptoms are chest pain, sweating, heart palpitations, shaking and feeling disconnected from everything and everyone around you. At that moment there is nothing more scary than those feelings. Panic attacks will eventually subside, but when they do typically you are left feeling more anxious than ever and so starts a vicious cycle in your life until you face whatever it is that is causing these feelings.

These are just a few of a long list of feelings you may experience. Remember, everyone is different and never let anyone tell you that what you are feeling is wrong or to just get over it. There is an underlying cause to these attacks and together we can work to get to the root it and get you back to living in your moment!
